Berlin is famous for its high ranked engineering programmes in the fields of mechanical engineering & engineering management. After the collision of three independent founding colleges, this university was formed. The Bergakademie Berlin, the “Prussian Mining Academy,” is the oldest in them, and that was created in 1770 by the geologist Carl Abraham Gerhard with the aid the Prussian king Frederick II of Brandenburg-Hohenzollern. The total area covered by it is up-to ca. 600,000m2 which is distributed over different locations in Berlin. In the borough of Charlottenburg, its main campus is located. According to some estimates in January 2009, 28,200 students enrolled in above 50 subjects in the seven schools of the university.In Egypt, it also established its satellite campus to operate as a scientific & academic field office. The nonprofit public-private partnership (PPP) aims to offer services provided by Technische Universitat Berlin at the campus in El Gouna on the Red Sea. Total employees in the university are more than 7,601, and its faculty includes 323 professors, 2,246 postgraduate researchers and administration, the workshops, a library & the central facilities workers are 2,078. In March 2010, there were 2,301 student assistants and 142 trainees.
